Crisis on the Infinite Cinematic Earths

Premise:  I tried to reconcile year(s) of production with internal logic/intended purpose for all films and TV shows based on DC Comics superheroes, in order to delineate possible “Cinematic Earths” where some versions of established superheroes co-exist.

Earth 1 – Superman (Kirk Alyn). The Batman (Lewis Wilson) and Robin (Douglas Croft). Billy Batson/Captain Marvel (Frank Coghlan/Tom Tyler), Spy Smasher (Kane Richmond), The Vigilante (Ralph Byrd). Note: the original old serials Earth. Alyn’s was the very first cinematic Superman.

Earth 2 – Superman (George Reeves). Batman (Rober Lowery) and Robin (Johnny Duncan). Note: the second old serials Earth.

Earth 3 – Batman (Adam West), Wonder Woman (Cathy Lee Crosby), Legends of the Superheroes (The Flash, Green Lantern, Captain Marvel, Hawkman, The Atom, Black Canary). Note: no Superman in this universe. Despite being a 1979 production, the Legends series features Adam West and Burt Ward, as well as a more campy approach. Crosby’s Wonder Woman was also seen in Infinite Crisis (the comic book) as cameo.

Earth 4 – Billy Batson/Captain Marvel (Michael Gray/Jackson Bostwick/John Davey), Isis (Joanna Cameron). Note: sort of Pre-Crisis “Earth S”.

Earth 5 – Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter), Batman (Michael Keaton), The Flash (John Wesley Shipp), Swamp Thing (the 1982’s film version). Note: this is a more serious and faithful-to-the-comics continuity. I did not include Superman because Donner’s Kal-El is supposed to debut in a world which never saw superheroes before. On Earth 5, Diana introduced herself to the world in 1942.

Earth 6 aka Donnerverse – Superman (Christopher Reeve), Supergirl (Helen Slater). Note: this Superman will spark a global renaissance and change civilization in a way that it would not need superheroes anymore.

Earth 7 – Superboy (John Haymes Newton). Note: the first season of the 1988’s series.

Earth 8 – Superboy (Gerard Christopher), Swamp Thing (the 1990’s series version). Note: according to the Superboy series, this Earth itself spawned a subset of four parallel alternate universes.

Earth 9 – Superman (Dean Cain).

Earth 10 aka Schumacherverse One – Batman (Val Kilmer) and Robin (Chris O’Donnell). Note: in this universe, Harvey Dent is white and turns into Two-Face, unlike his Earth 5 counterpart. There is no Superman.

Earth 11 aka Schumacherverse Two – Batman (George Clooney) and Robin (Chris O’Donnell), Steel (Shaquille O’Neal). Note: Superman is referenced in both the movies.

Earth 12 – The Justice League of America, as seen in the 1997’s series pilot: Martian Manhunter, The Flash, Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, The Atom, Fire, Ice. Note: in this universe, there’s a city called “New Metro”.

Earth 13 – Superman (Tom Welling) and the superheroes introduced in Smallville. Note: this Earth itself spawned two parallel universes, the so-called “Earth-2” and the “Apocalypse” world.

Earth 14 – 2002’s Birds of Prey. Note: featuring an alternate version of Batman.

Earth 15 aka Singerverse – Superman (Brandon Routh), Aquaman (Justin Hartley), Green Lantern (Ryan Reynolds), Catwoman (Halle Berry), John Constantine (Keanu Reeves). In the past: Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin); The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen; Spirit (Gabriel Macht). Note: films and shows produced from 2003 to 2011. It doesn’t seem there are heavy contradictions in terms of continuity at all. In this universe, at a certain point Superman’s been missing for 5 years.

Earth 16 aka Nolanverse – Batman (Christian Bale). Note: no other superheroes. In this universe, Selina Kyle is known as “The Cat”.

Earth 17 – 2006’s V for Vendetta.

Earth 18 – Watchmen (the 2009’s film version). Note: there are no other superheroes in this universe.

Earth 19 – Wonder Woman (Adrianne Palicki). Note: this TV pilot was never aired.

Earth 20 aka Arrowverse – Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow, The Flash (Grant Gustin), Firestorm (Robbie Amell), The Atom (Brandon Routh) and the Legends of Tomorrow. Note: no Superman.

Earth 21 aka Snyderverse – DCEU. Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), the Suicide Squad.

Earth 22 – 2014’s Gotham.

Earth 23 – the so-called “Earth-2” in the 2014’s Flash series.

Earth 24 – Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Martian Manhunter (David Harewood). Note: at this point, we don’t know if there are other superheroes in this universe.

Earth 25 – the so-called “Earth-3” in the 2014’s Flash series. Jay Garrick/The Flash (John Wesley Shipp).
